A more serious winter storm warning has been issued across southern New Jersey, where heavier snow is expected. Most of the snow will fall between 1 and 7 a. Much of southern NJ has been upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning, as this is the area expected to have the most significant impact to the Friday morning commute. Speed limits will be reduced to 45 mph and all trailers, RVs, buses and certain tractor-trailers will be prohibited.
The New Jersey Department of Transportation also announced commercial vehicle restrictions beginning at 10 p. The first measurable snow of the season is rather late. An average season would have seen about 8 total inches of snow by now. But the Lehigh Valley officially has only seen traces so far this season, according to weather service records. Just a tenth of an inch at Lehigh Valley International Airport would count as measurable accumulation.
